We are proud of DSK’s team’s work and the outcomes we provide to our clients. Our goal is to provide valuable solutions to our clients. We also aim to improve the success of every organization who chooses to be our partner.
We grow and develop and we would like to share some information on our activity. What happened in DSK in October, November & December 2018?
We present a short brief:
1. New office opened: our debt collection department was moved to new office in Poznań – now we have almost 700 sq.m. of comfortable working space. We remind that we have also Warsaw and Kraków desks, for the convenience of our clients.
2. Success stories of our people:
/ Szymon Łajszczak is a Ph.D. – his doctoral thesis “The role of facts in determining the factual basis of the act of applying the law” was approved by Warsaw University;
/ Michał Jackowski – DSK partner – finished his Executive MBA studies in ESCP – the oldest European business school;
/ Michał Jackowski was invited to hold a speech on agile management of a law firm during Corporate Legal Forum – together with heads of legal departments of Coca Cola, Volkswagen, Kompania Piwowarska, Accelor Mittal and other top companies;
/ Marta Chorzępa-Starosta, Marta Ciesielska, Michał Jackowski, Łukasz Szmit published interesting articles regarding taxation, European law and GDPR;
/ Łukasz Lewandowski started his doctoral studies at Adam Mickiewicz University;
/ Marta Dziewulska and Kinga Kozłowska-Witek participated actively in a very important meeting of investment branch regarding legal possibilities to change the remuneration of lumpsum contracts due to huge cost increase in the branch;
/ Tomasz Wojech presented a report regarding the building contracts on a conference concerning public procurement investments organized by Zielona Góra University;
/ Marcin Palusiński and Marta Chorzępa conducted a series of workshops regarding amendments of tax law imposed in 2019 with a particular interest in IT and investment law;
/ more people on board – welcome Monika Kowalczyk and Marta Kownacka – two very experienced lawyers and Aleksander Zieliński junior IT and IPR law specialist. Our team consists of almost 60 people now.
3. Last quarter of 2018 has brought us more clients and new contracts:
/ three big contracts with top 10 companies in a building branch, including one with a branch leader;
/ a big investment project in Poznan – Stara Rzeźnia started with DSK Legal help;
/ we develop our project of combined legal & engineering services – we signed two contracts regarding building of two motorways;
/ two cases of rebus sic stantibus clause (increasing lumpsum remuneration) started – we claim on behalf of our clients (huge building contractors) over 30M PLN of additional costs;
/ we were chosen as a contractor for ENEA Group – starting services since January 2019;
/ our tax & custom department started new contracts for AEO (authorized economic operator) implementation – a certificate that provides you a status of trusted entrepreneur. Increasingly, in tenders (both public and organized by large corporations), it is required that the bidder-customer has an AEO certificate. It gives a number of other benefits (lack of or less control of goods at borders or checks lasting significantly shorter, faster, priority service by customs administration, being a VIP partner in contacts with customs administration in Poland and abroad);
/ two new contracts for software houses from Poznań & Gdańsk;
/ a new contract regarding legal services for a next round of financing for a production company from Wielkopolska – we shall prepare an amendment to existing investment agreement a new one for new shareholders and conduct a capital increase;
/ except for these new projects more & more day-to-day work – IT Agile contracts, several court cases, new claims for building contractors.
